What I’ve Done

Jacobs High Tech High

When Gary and Jerri-Ann Jacobs decided to found High Tech High School, I was one of the lucky ones who was able to attend from 2005 to 2009. During that time, I participated in numerous projects. Following, are three examples of the kinds of projects we students produced:

1.     An Interactive computer art project which was showcased at a local gallery. We wrote a narrative which I provided the voice over. When a person stood in front of the screen and put on headsets, they were able to start the video and listen to the narrative.

2.     A gene-splicing project, which caused small sea creatures to glow.

3.     IT Senior year internship at Jacobs Middle School.

NFAR Tech Training Project

Commercial Event-Based iPhone App.
During this project, I tested an iPhone app which was being updated for an iOS upgrade and for feature improvement.  The testing included an XCODE iOS simulator on various iPhone Platforms and testing 9 main functional areas with over 300 test cases.  I performed new feature testing and regression testing over 6 releases and completed Bluetooth testing.  I recorded issues on Excel spreadsheets and Jira issue tracker.

 Additional Projects:

Reformatting 50+ Apple desktop computers.  I am a PC guy and was able to successfully achieve the goal and was invited back to complete another department.

Power of NeuroGaming (PoNG) Center Summer Internship

The PoNG Center is a UCSD research group that provides technology, programming, and other game-based resources to groups researching a wide variety of topics. We believe that turning data collection into a game is an effective way to engage participants and involve the community in real world solutions.

We seek to directly engage a group of individuals who are underrepresented in the STEM workforce--individuals with developmental disorders, specifically Autism Spectrum Disorders--in a summer supported internship program. Our group and collaborators create video games for assessment and therapeutics often using technology for motion capture or other physiological data sensing.
